Every victim of human trafficking will be supported by LSP. 


  • Children, however, account for 38% of detected trafficking victims worldwide according to the United Nations office on Drugs and Crim (UNODC).
  • The number of detected child victims globally increased by 31% from 2019 to 2022, with a 38% rise specifically for girls, indicated a growing targeting of minors, as reported by UNODC.
  • Approximately 12 million of the 29.6 million people in modern slavery worldwide are children, underscoring their significant representation in exploitation, per the International Labour Organization (ILO) and United Nations data from 2024.
  • In the United States, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received over 18,4000 reports of possible child sex trafficking in 2023, with one in six of the 28,800 missing children cases likely involving trafficking, highlighting domestic vulnerability.
  • Girls make up 60% of detected child victims trafficked for sexual exploitation, while 45% of boys are exploited for forced labor, showing gender-specific risks, according to UNODC's 2024 findings.
